Article Overview
This article outlines how to assign and manage user permissions across Skyllful’s applications: Simulator, IQ, and Studio. Each platform has different permission levels that determine what users can see and do.
Simulator Permissions
Simulator access is binary, either a user has it, or they don’t. There are no permission levels within the Simulator itself.
How to Enable Simulator Access:
Go to the User Management section.
Select the user you’d like to edit.
Check the box for Enable Simulator Access.
Save your changes.
💡 All users who need to be assigned a manager must have Simulator access.
IQ Permissions
IQ access determines which learners a user can view data for. There are two visibility levels:
Permission Level | Description |
---|---|
All Learners | View data for all learners in the program. Ideal for Directors and VPs. |
Direct Reports | View data only for users they directly manage. Best for Supervisors/Leads. |
How to Set IQ Permissions:
In the user’s profile, check Enable IQ Access.
From the dropdown menu, choose All Learners or Direct Reports.
Save your changes.
Studio Permissions
Studio offers the most detailed control. You can assign users permission to create, edit, and manage content, users, or workflows.
Common Permission Areas:
Content Authoring: Create and edit lessons or screens.
User Management: Add or remove users, assign permissions.
Mapping: Manage lesson-to-role associations.
Tip: Assign Studio permissions based on role responsibility—limit access to only what’s needed.
