Completion and Readiness Metrics

Article Overview

SkyllfulIQ provides two key snapshot metrics—Completion and Readiness—to help you monitor training progress. While they’re often reviewed together, they measure different things:

  • Completion looks at entire lessons completed.

  • Readiness drills down to the learning mode level, offering a more detailed view of learner engagement.

Understanding the difference can help you interpret reports more accurately and make smarter training decisions.

Completion Metric

Readiness Metric

Measures entire lessons completed by learners

Drills down to the learning mode level for a more detailed view

A lesson is considered complete only when all assigned modes (Video, Walkthrough, Practice, Knowledge Check) have been finished

Provides insight into the "depth of learning" by measuring engagement across different learning components

Example 1: Simple Scenario

Example 2: Multi-Lesson Scenario

  • 77 learners complete all modes of the lesson

    Completion = 77%

  • 10 learners are assigned 10 lessons

    • 10 learners × 10 lessons = 100 total lesson assignments

  • 5 learners complete all 10 lessons = 50 completed lessons (50%)

  • 5 learners complete 5 lessons = 25 completed lessons (25%)

    Completion = 75% total (50 + 25 out of 100)

Example Calculation

For 100 learners assigned 1 lesson with 4 total modes (3 learning modes + 1 knowledge check):

  • 50 learners complete the full lesson (150 learning events, 50 knowledge checks)

  • 25 learners complete 2 learning modes only (50 more learning events)

  • Total: 200 of 300 learning events complete (66.7%) and 50 of 100 knowledge checks complete (50%)

  • Readiness = 0.5 × 66.7% + 0.5 × 50% = 58.35%
