Article summary

Article Overview

User permissions grant both [access to Skyllful apps] & [the level of functionality within each app].  To grant permissions within an app, you must first enable access to the app in the user's profile.

  1. User Permissions for SIMULATOR
  2. User Permissions for IQ
  3. User Permissions for STUDIO
  4. Best Practices & Troubleshooting

1) User Permissions for SIMULATOR

Permissions for Simulator are simple - users are either granted access, or they are not.  There are no permissions to customize, unlike the IQ and Studio apps.

By checking [Enable Simulator Access], a user is granted full access to Simulator

2) User Permissions for IQ

There are only 2 permissions that need to be set for IQ.  Users can be granted access to either:

  1. Every user in the program [All Learners]
    • ex. Stakeholders
    • ex. Directors
    • ex. Managers
  2. Only the users they oversee [Direct Reports]
    • ex. Supervisors
    • ex. Training Managers

After checking [Enable IQ Access], use the dropdown permissions list to customize access

3) User Permissions for STUDIO

Studio has the most permissions.  You can customize the level at which Studio users can create/edit content, user administration functions, and mapping permissions.

This user has been granted all Possible Studio permissions

4) Best Practices & Troubleshooting

Best Practices

Create a 'Placeholder' user with IQ access ONLY - do not give them simulator access.

  • All Simulator Users require a manager.
  • Therefore, to complete a hierarchy with a single user at the top echelon, you need a non-simulator user.
  • If you have a stakeholder who fits this description, you do not need to create a 'placeholder'.

Troubleshooting
