Add Scrolling to a Screen

In this article, you will learn how create a scrolling screen, or a scrolling portion of your screen.

Build Scrolling Screens

1. In Replica Maker (Skyllful's editor), select the [Hand Tool]
2. Drag over the portion of the screen you want to scroll.  Anything outside of the area you choose will remain static for the learner.
3. Click [Create Group]
4. Check [Is Scrollable]
5. Click [Edit Contents]
6. Add the next segment of your scrolling screen in any direction.  You can drag it onto the plus icon, or you can click and locate it in your files.
7. Drag/Slide/Shift the stitched screen until it properly aligns
8. Click [Append]
9. Add any elements that should reside in the scrolling space 

Best Practices & Troubleshooting

Best Practices

• SCROLLING SCREENS:  When capturing Screenshots from a workflow recording, capture several for a scrolling screen so you can stitch them together in Replica Maker (Skyllful's screen editor).
• SCROLLING SCREEN CONTENTS:  All elements that exist on top of a scrolling screen should be added INSIDE the scroll group.  Do NOT add it to the main screen even though you can see part of the scrolling area.

Troubleshooting

• SCROLLING SCREENS: You cannot drag/drop, or copy/paste, into a scrollable frame at this time.  If you are working in a scroll frame and it disappears, you may have performed one of these actions by mistake.
• SCROLLING SCREENS:  If you see elements floating in odd places for screens that incorporate scrolling, you may have created an element outside of the scrolling group instead of INSIDE the scrolling group.
