Completion & Readiness Percentages
Article Overview
In IQ, we provide Completion and Readiness snapshot analytics in the form of percentages. Completion has to do with the percentage of LESSONS completed. Readiness takes it to a more granular level and calculates at the mode level.

1) Completion Percentage
The completion percentage reports the percentage of lessons that have been successfully completed in their ENTIRETY. For a lesson to qualify as completed - the learner must have completed all assigned modes for that lesson.
- If 100 learners are given an assignment with 1 lesson, and 77 of them complete that lesson in its entirety, then the completion analytic would read 77%.
- If 10 learners are given an assignment with 10 lessons, the system will first break the data down by how many lesson assignments exist (10 learners x 10 lessons = 100 lesson assignments).
- If 5 learners complete all 10 lessons, then 50 of the 100 lessons assignments have been completed (50%).
- If the other 5 learners have each completed 5 lessons, then 25 lesson assignments have been completed (another 25%).
- Totaling a completion rate of 75%.
2) Readiness Percentage
Readiness reports the percentage of learning events that have been completed. A learning event can be thought of as individual modes. If a lesson has all 4 modes, there are 4 pieces of data that go into the statistic.
Furthermore, readiness is calculated via a weighted system wherein the learning modes (video, walkthrough, and practice) are weighted at half while the performance mode (knowledge check) comprises the remaining half.
Readiness is calculated as the weighted percentage of learning modes completed PLUS the weighted percentage of knowledge checks completed.
- If 100 learners are assigned 1 lesson with all 4 modes, the system first calculates the number of events. There are 300 learning events (100 learners x 3 modes) and 100 knowledge checks.
- If 50 learners finish the entire lesson, then 150 learning events are completed (50 learners x 3 learning modes) and 50 knowledge checks are done.
- If 25 learners have only completed the video and practice modes, then another 50 learning events are completed. (25 learners x 2 learning modes)
- In total, 200 of 300 learning events are complete (67%). AND 50 of 100 knowledge checks are done (50%). Since these 2 statistics are equally weighted at half, then half of 67% (33.5) plus half of 50% (25) gives us our Readiness level of 58.5%
